OK... So, I am super excited right now. Last week Kayli sang in her first ever vocal competition. It was tough and she scored a High Silver, which is nothing to sneeze at!!! The judges loved her storytelling, her phrasing and her stage presence. WOW! (She got a little nervous and missed a couple of notes.. that's what pulled her down) They also loved the song she sang, "God's Will" by Martina McBride and felt is was beautiful otherwise. Once she got over her jitters, she was FABULOUS!!! That was called ON STAGE NY. The top score there was a platinum, then gold, then high silver. Today, Kayli and Amy performed their duet called "I'll Stand by You" sung by Carrie Underwood and choreographed by Danielle DiNote. Sadly, I was so nervous for them , I didn't take one picture! They will be doing it again in two weeks, though! They scored a Gold!! This competition is called Cathy Roe's Ultimate Dance Competiion. The high score is Platinum, then High gold, and then Gold. GREAT job for a first time duet. Amy was SO nervous. It was the first time she performed in that fashion. Once SHE got over the jitters, she did fabulous. It was SO pretty! Also, today, Amy did her group numbers. Ballet entitled "Mainstreet USA", Jazz called "Almost Like Being in Love" and a new number called "keep on Swimming". All 3 got High Gold. "Mainstreet USA" a special award for precision in technique and "Keep on Swimming" got most entertaining! YEAH! THEN, Kayli competed with her dance solo, called " 'Deed I Do" choreographed by Stephanie Garland. She was awarded a High Gold! AWESOME AND... she also was picked and invited to perform in the first annual EVER choreographed fashion show as a MODEL for Algy Costumes at the Cathy Roe Ultimate Dance Competition Nationals in Mason, OH this summer!!!! HOW exciting is that! She's SO excited. Of course, I don't have a picture from today, but she will be doing that dance again in two weeks as well. I will get a shot of her in her costume. I do, however have photos of two of the plaques- Gold for their duet and High Gold for Kayli's solo and a photo of the ribbons they receive and Kayli's invitation! What a year! You might also notice that Kayli got her braces off.... Good lookin kid! (Sorry about the sideways photo...I'll fix that later!)
