On Friday, August 31, 2007 we all headed north to Tracy's grandmother's house in Philmont, NY. What a beautifully, rural and serene area! The first night we were blessed to spot 40 deer in nearby pastures. The next day we had a leisurely breakfast, got dressed and headed to the Chatham Fireman's Parade in honor of Labor Day. It was great fun! Kevin REALLY got a kick out of all the trucks. We even saw a truck named "Russell"... it was old.. YIKES. Later on after a quick trip to WalMart, the dollar Store, and the pizzaria, the Colligans hiked nealy 1.5 miles to see Philmont's own High Falls. Who knew that powerful, awesome waterfall cascaded down the rocky slops of hilly Philmont! On Sunday, again we arose, had a quiet breakfast and headed back to Chatham for the Chatham Fair. Talk about rural? It was a good, ol' fashioned country fair. Quilts, displays, geese, ducks, chickens, roosters, cows, sheep, rides, local food, carnival food... you name it, it was there! The kids had a blast and grandmom enjoyed watching them have fun. Sadly, Monday was our day to travel home. It's always nice to go, but boy do we hate to leave her. We always have next year to look forward to! Enjoy the slide show!

  1. Very nice. New York is beautiful, and the Colligans only help to make it more so. It must be an honor to have a fire truck named after you, Russell. Maybe they named it because of all the fires they put out that you set! I did enjoy the pictures, and am glad you had fun. I love you all. POP

Only nice comments... follow your mom's rule... if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all!
